Located on the eastern rim of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Waynesville offers absolutely everything an outdoors enthusiast could desire. Mountain trails dotted with wildflowers abound. The Haywood Arts Regional Theater brings rounds of applause. Residents turn out for weekly street dances during the summer and to visit with friends and sample the produce at the twice-weekly farmers market. Local festivals include the Ramp Festival in May, Folkmoot USA in July and the Apple Harvest Festival in October.
